What I've done to my car this week!

Made some clear tail lights & fitted with L.E.Ds

Finally repaired my slow power windows, windows have been slow for many years, pulled the switches apart & cleaned them(made a little better but still slow) pulled door trims off th check & clean the motors & connectors and check power@the motor , so 12.7v@battery-good ,11.8v@motor-ample to run the window motor, on pushing the switch the voltage@motor dropped to 4.8v ,so decided rather than pull half the car apart decided I'd relay the motors with a new 12v supply, found a good 12.4v acc feed under the dash, fused a feed off this to each door + an earth to each door & relayed the motors with 2 SPDT relays(2 for each door so 4 in total)....here's the Utube link to the motor operating. Well done, a much needed mod on these cars. Details on how I, and others, have done this (with photos), are on this forum HERE. I installed the relays in the centre console, others in the dash or under a front seat.

If you’re following my S2 recommission thread, you’ll know that I have taken the plunge and removed the elford engine, for a couple of small repairs.
I thought I had better have a look at the wastegate, as I have never removed it !!
OMG it was seized solid…. It took 20 minutes of tapping to get it free, good job I haven’t wound the old girl up fully yet lol .

The more eagle eyed of you, might have noticed that I also replaced the OMP rod with a new cable, as the rod was sticking occasionally and holding the revs at 2000 rpm.

Window relays make a huge difference aye. Yours seem a lot faster than mine still though . I think I need to adjust the runners better (slot the hole)

I actually saw my sorry state of a car last night . It hasn't been touched in a very long time as I live an hour away from it. I really need a unit nearby to my current house

Yeah it's a massive improvement & makes using/driving the car so much nicer....also does away with the dirty finger marks that always appear as u try to get that last little bit up....also one more thing I will add is as our window motors are old & dying,also hard to find as a 2nd hand serviceable spare, I have replaced mine with Toyota Camry window motors, it's almost a direct bolt in(did mine a long time ago but from memory 1 hole needs to be slightly elongated about 1mm-also chop the Toyotas loom as the plugs are going to be needed to patch into your loom....from memory it was about a 2010 Camry I used, I also believe the Land cruiser run the same motor)

Oh wicked! I had been meaning to look up some window motors and attempting to adapt a newer one to the 7 aye. For that exact reason. But I've had other priorities . Chur for the heads up! Haha

Back in July I got married, and it wouldn't have been a wedding of mine without my cars there!








Some friends and families cars there too. My dad's GTR and Lotus, and the BMW and Supra belong to close friends of mine.
