perfect thanks, I always have some 2 stroke oil around for old bikes so will run a little in the region 200-250 :1 which is what you both use. The OMP does pump and runs oil through the pipes up to spec of manual thereabouts.
We have to viscous coupling...was seized totally, but have a fan and shroud on the suck side set at about 85 degrees currently which may be a little cool/early. The gauge in the cur runs about 1/3 up I guess...into normal sector but under halfway in todays 9 degree weather.
Just a little juddering to sort at slow no throttle over run speeds...though idle has settled a bit low which may be it.....or perhaps user error not used to lack of torque from a rotary!

Such a pleasure to see that colour. Was quite common in the early 80's but pretty rare theses days

The car is running very well now on the whole and on the road.
A couple of things I wondered.

Temperature running left on idle and driven...loaded up hills etc. What is expected parameter of the temperature gauge assuming it is accurate!

I cant iron out a bit of lurching/kangeroo type effect when it is on over run. It can be reduced by selecting a lower gear and disappears with just the slightest throttle applied to drive the car. I have increased idle speed a little to circa 900 in case that helped. Any ideas?

Do you have the air pump and rats nest still? Mine was rubbish off throttle until I got rid of it all. Much smoother now.

hi GT James.....which part? I think it may do. The part on the end of the inlet manifold has been removed and blanked before we had it. There is some plumbing remaining on the top of the engine to things! Im used to a lucas PI system on my car haha! not the same

If the intake manifold is blanked off then the air pump is probably gone.

I'd guess the shutter valve in the manifold is not working then.

I will post some pictures of the carb/underbonnet. Perhaps somebody can tell me if there is anything else I can rip off! I assume the hot start motor thingy and cable for a start! dont think it works anyway.
