Is there a Wallace in the drivers side?
LOL I see what you did there!
I think it probably rusted out due to historical water ingress on that side. I'll need to get the carpet up and clean up the metal before deciding to patch or grommet the thing. Last time I had the carpet up was when fitting the FC seats and the grommet was in place then!
Photo tomorrow of the state of the floor

Do not forget the washer rubber or Thomas will not let that go Especially if he finds out someone gave 1 to you a couple of years ago!!
After you gave me the cover, it took some months to find my orphaned one. As usual, found in a random box whilst looking for something unrelated. Both are now residing comfortably in my tool chest. OMG, was it really 2 years ago??? I told the MOT tester that I'd had the car for seven years but it's actually over nine! I've just checked the date of my first post on here.
When I get the MOT, perhaps I shall stage a special photo with washer covers attached as appeasement.

Looking good there aye bro. Ahh you have water in your passenger footwell also aye? That's on my list of things to track down. I think it's from under the wiper cowling area

Jesse, it's a legacy from back when I bought the car. The footwell was soaking and I assumed that it was just a blocked sunroof drain. How wrong I was.
When it rains heavily, I could see a trickle of water from around the speaker area in front of the passenger door so that gave me a clue. Not an issue for me now as the car rarely sees the rain and parks indoors.
Remove your wiper cowling. Trickle water slowly down the screen so that it runs behind the screen trim. if you can see water running into the vacant area then you're lucky for access. I can't see anything in there which means it runs behind the boxed section and the only accesss is wing off. However, if I remove the speaker kickplate and shine a light in behind and up, I can see a corroded section where water has been trapped and has rusted thru so that is how the water was getting in. I'm going to have to get inventive getting access up into there with some sealer on the end of something. A job for the summer I think.

Yeah I have had a look inside and out. I think it'll end up with me getting the angle grinder/holesaw out and going from the inside-out. Then weldy weld . i'll get a little borescope type thing to have a look before I do any major surgery though Frustrating place for a leak aye
