it's also worth checking the 2 tiny mesh filter screens in the carb.... particles too small for the main filter to catch often clog or partially clog these mesh screens, especially if the tank is slightly rusty on the inside. They are located on the top of the carb under the banjo bolts where the fuel pipes bolt onto the carb.

Oddly enough, I was just doing some more reading up on the fuel system after finishing the filter replacement and came across this about an hour ago. I wasn't aware, until then, that there were fuel filters in there too!
