Series 3 tyres, what's available?

Series 3s came with Dunlop D60 tyres, 205 x 60 x14
Nice and upright, not too 'balloon like', they suited the car viewed from front or rear.

I think 205s look way to ballooney and wide on a 5.5" wheel myself, I have always run 195s myself, but my opinions matters not if going for originality

I'd rather stick to 205's James for originality on this car but there's nothing available. If it's a choice between staying original but on Chinese ditchfinders or dropping 10mm and getting some quality rubber on it then I'm going to have to go for 195's... at the end of the day only complete anoraks like us on this forum would notice anyway

I would say Ian you will drive not race gus on shiny nice days, will you?
Nangkang from Taiwan isn't so bad on dry weather. Winter tires are bad and they aren't the best in rain. So its yours. I think you better change the tires regulary before they are to old. You diidn't will use gus as an daily driver.

Nankang had a shocking reputation, but I think things have improved.

I am a big fan of the Uniroyal Rainsport/rainexpert, but if sizing is the main issue then it looks like a compromise is needed.

Me too, after fitting them on my FD a long time ago, they out preformed the Bridgestone premium tyre in the wet. And not any noticable difference in the dry! I think there continental tyres rebranded... And continental tyres on motobikes were lethal last I tried them .

I would imagine driver ability/reading the road would have a bigger influence on our cars ( standard s3's etc) than tyres in the dry. And even in the wet unless driving inappropriate then even budget tyres would do.

Don't Dunlop do a new line of tyres in older sizes, released last year...

Edit: to confirm not in a 14 inch rim.. 13 and 15 inches only it appears.

Rain Experts are awesome. £50-60 in 195 60 14. And cheaper if you go to 185 60 14 or 185 65 14
