In the market for a new set of 205/60/14's
Not much available it seems... what are you running? Any recommendations, I want to stick with 205's if possible.

195/60/14 is a better bet. It's only a 5.5in rim. A lot more choice as well.
185/60/14 allows a TON more choice and rolling radius change is still minimal and well within spec.Fits the rim a lot better too. 3 good choices here ....

I can personally vouch for the Uniroyal RainExpert 3. I run them on my Merc. All my workshop buddies run them on their trackday cars too. And you can't argue with a Continental tire for under £50 either,

Such a difficult size to source a good tire. Two of the biggest classic tire suppliers in the UK don't even list the size!
Found this though ..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-SUMMER-TY ... SwiuRcedxk

Great to see this car go to a caring new home, I'm sure Ian will take great care of Gus! In terms of tyres, does anyone know what tyres RX7s were supplied with from new? It would be cool to see original cars like Gus on some period correct tyres, if such a thing exists in the right size haha. I know modern tyres perform much better but period correct tyres would be a great detail. Yokohama have recently re released their Advan HF type D which was available from 1981. They do a 195/70R14 and a 185/60R14, but unfortunately no 205/60R14. It has the old school tyre look though!

Series 3s came with Dunlop D60 tyres, 205 x 60 x14
Nice and upright, not too 'balloon like', they suited the car viewed from front or rear.

I’ll give you a good run for that record.
Get some proper Japanese branded tyres.
Yokohama’s or the like.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

Re: Tyres for series 3 RX7
after days of searching it's becoming apparent that the only tyres available in 205/60/14 are Chinese ditchfinders.... as much as I really want to stick with 205's it looks like I'll have to drop down to 195's to find some decent rubber
..... seems the days of quality 205's for our s3's are gone now.

Re: Tyres for series 3 RX7
I had same problem Ian, that is why I went for the 15" BBS clones, it was cheaper to buy 4 new wheels & tyres..... I went for 195 F & 205 R. Steering a bit lighter with the smaller size.
