As discussed at Beaulieu, I think this is a great idea!DKWW2000 wrote:Looking to next years 2018 event, it would be nice to have a mixed Mazda Rotary Stand under a Neutral name eg Mazda Rotaries whereby we could welcome all models & as a Show Stopper Front Row Line of each Model, (1st Cosmo - RX8).
I appreciate it would take a lot of organising but I am sure there would be plenty willing to help & use their friendships to get some of the more special Models to make a appearance. I would think even Beaulieu would get behind us and perhaps would give us a prime Stand. Maybe some of the Rotary Specialists getting behind us.
What are the Forums thoughts on the idea, it is in a lovely location whilst not central, it is not a difficult place to get to, very well served by Motorways (unless you live in Devon!!!!)
Yes, it will be difficult to organise, but I'm up for giving it a go (with the help of others!). As soon as the date for next year's event is announced (usually in early January) we could contact other Clubs/Forums to see if we can get support. It would be fantastic to get a 1960's Cosmo into the lineup - Phil Blake in Suffolk owns two (one runner and one non-runner, the non-runner cooincidentally bought in a Beaulieu auction in 2000) and Mazda UK currently have one being restored.
I'd like to think we might even be able to get some support from Mazda and get some of their Heritage Fleet down to Beaulieu too. I know someone with a senior management contact in Mazda to possibly make an approach.
I'll put a few feelers out behind the scenes and see if I can generate some interest.
How do others on here feel about giving this a go? Or is it just Pete and I getting carried away in a moment of madness!
