Only thing is ... it's not my engine bay in that pic ;) Thanks for the advice mate. I'll find something to do the job.

I can see also see the missing part on the picture from your engine room, Tool you're correct.

You'll never glue that spigot back on, mate. It's some kind of amazoid Mazda-patented glue-resistant polymer :( Go on, ask me how I know...

Things are happening! Firstly this ... another 39th birthday  My wife got a friend to make this and then went all the way to Burton-On-Trent to collect it
Image

And then, onto the issue of this crankcase breather thingy. I had a eureka moment and remembered my spare manifold languishing in the bottom of a carton. Pulled it out and was rather pleased to see this :D
Image

Next job was removing the broken one. Got the big sockets out and selected the 21mm flavor
Image

Easy as

Replacement not quite as easy with everything attached to the motor. Needed a long socket and didn't have one. No choice but to remove the manifold so I can tighten the bloody thing properly. Cue comedy scene as I do this whilst forgetting that I had attached the OMP rod. Now holding carb and mani with one hand and trying to detach the OMP rod with the other and not damage the mani gasket at the same time. -haha-

Easy as :)

TOOL wrote:The OMP lines are in the right place in that last pic. There's a metal tang which should go under one of the water pump bolts and just bends around the lines.
I remembered that you gave me the water pump from the busted motor. Has taken some time to remember where I stored it and today, 1x metal tang fitted :)
Image

T piece fitted. Functional but not pretty. Will have to do for now. (and I really must clean those plug leads too). I was going to use my NGK leads but I like the proper mazda color coded items which came with the motor
Image

Fitted vac lines for crankcase breather and ignition advance. Wrong shade of blue really but will have to do for now. Capped hose (in correct shade of blue) was a vac supply for the now deleted rats nest Should have removed the hose before I put the manifold back on ... Oh well

Did a couple more bits. Cleaned up the plug wire sockets and painted the metal oil line

And fitted these cos they look kinda like a blood supply

I've been tidying up a few engine bay bits with Mr Hammerite. The crackle black and smooth black have been great. Got a bit experimental with some red and wished I hadn't. The spray version just runs everywhere and in my case, all over my nice black chassis rail which I'll now have to clean up
