Cheers! :)

It's worth saving IMO! Progress will be fairly slow at first as I'm up to my neck in starting a business, finishing the house move and have a possessed three year old lol.

Plans first off are to strip it down and fix any rust then move on to the running gear... I have a Megasquirt V3 sat about that I was going to use on a VR6 turbo so I'll be machining up a pulley to run that and work through the ignition side of things and I'll look in to an inlet manifold. I've got a long list of engine rebuild parts in my head that I'll have to consider as I find what needs doing, but the end goal is bridgeported and injection. I'm also going to look in to the rear end and make an equal length watts link setup.

Also tempted by an FC subframe and front end swap with the rack & pinion setup as it'll be used on track a fair bit.

Can't wait to get stuck in!

if you're going with a FC subframe swap and injection it might pay you to drop a S4 13b engine in it rather than adapt a 12a. FC engine is already injected, puts out more power than a 12a and parts are easier to come by. Only us diehards are sticking with 12a's these days.

I was thinking along those lines to be honest! As weird as it sounds the only thing wanting me to stay 12A is the fact it'll give me something to do! Having said that if it cuts out a massive amount of bother I'd probably go 13B on the basis that (If it's as good as it seems) I'll have a 12A to sell on to someone that needs it more than I do lol

X 2 from me.

It's down as A999 GEM at the moment in the 'Probable Scrappers' section of the 1st gen register.
Very happy to lift it out into 'SORN' or better still 'Roadgoing' sections as soon as you tell me when.
Also if you get the reg number sorted out I'd like to know it.

Cheers

I'll let you know as soon as I do! The guy that has it is waiting for the logbook to come through, apparently the farmer that had it took the plate off, he hasn't got he logbook back yet to see what plate it comes back with.

Although I'm not sure if it was taken off when it was parked up, as far as I've always been aware you need tax/MOT to take the plate off so there's a possibility that's something he didn't know and it'll stay on that plate.

I'm in Hemyock near Wellington, moved down from Southampton just before Christmas :)[/quote]

I live just outside Newton Abbot, the chap on the link below is near Wellington & has more parts than has listed on Ebay, he scrapped one about 9 months ago:-

Also Barum Auto Parts has been helpful to me, I think your nearest Branch is Tiverton,

Yeah it is a bit odd! Shouldn't be too bad, as far as the body goes it seems pretty solid!
