Re: Mello Yello
So things have been fairly quiet my end so have not had much to say.
But this summer should be a little more interesting as I have joined the Sevenoaks and Districts Motor Club to partake in there sprint and hillclimb competitions. Not sure what to expect and how competitive I will be. Just looking forward to giving it some beans in a controlled environment. My first event is at the end of this month at an airfield, North Weald, but the big highlight will be taking part in the event at Crystal Palace Park at the end of May.

Which is a great event with plenty to see and do.
With regards to the look of the car I had flirted with the idea of removing the front and rear bumpers and skirts a reverting to stock look. But the kit has been firmly attached with no intention of it being removed. So i have embraced the look and installed the Elford Rear Spoiler. Much happier with the completed look. Next on the list is new wheels and some road legal semi slicks.

once you get into the motorsport vibe, I reckon you'll soon look to lose that bodykit.... weight = seconds ! That bodykit must weight a load.

Re: Mello Yello
Went down to North Weald at the weekend, a District 19 Club sprint was on, to do some reconnaissance so that my first sprint would not be completely foreign.
Plenty of waiting about but you get about 5 runs which is not bad. This event had a lot of Lotus Elise and plenty of Ferrari. I was worried that I might exceed the noise limit but I came in at 95dB at 4500rpm (max allowed is 105dB). Really looking forward to taking part and seeing where I fit in, time wise, with other competitors results.

James, that looks fantastic, no wonder you're pleased with it..... that Elford spoiler has really lifted the look of the back end...... when's it going to be used in anger for the first time?
