Ahh yes, the eternal horsepower question.

It's a bit of a lottery with opening up a 12a. It could reveal a house of horrors and maybe nothing re useable. And anyway, must wait until the Bank of Money is in a better state of repair

Why would you want to ruin a street car by bridging it anyway :?

I think we have written enough nonsense!

Dave prefer the OEM look of the engine room, he is afraid the cops could find to much horsepowers!
International diplomatic relations restored then?

In my eyes you are a dealer. You are dealing with the sound of bridgy. Same as drugs for me. No withdrawal treatment possible. Very dangerous!

Lucky wrote:lol, glad I'm not the only one  I had exactly the same on the FD. It was while the FB was in the paint shop and it'd been so long and I was so focused on getting it done I forgot all about the FD legality. Funnily enough, only the week before I got a pull I'd rung the shop to remind them to put an MOT on the FB before they gave it back to me cos it'd run out  How me and the copper laughed when I said that.

Can't remember what the actual fine was in the end, either £60 or £90. They offered me the chance to go to court and contest it but since I was clearly guilty as sin and that would have given them the chance to make it a round £1000 instead, I thought I'd decline the chance for my day in court
Well .. my 'deal or no deal' letter has arrived. #anker suggests £100 as a 'conditional offer of fixed penalty'. Now, I'm quite willing to test the ' ... my father was in the RAF and fought for YOUR freedom ..' defence but upon reflection, it's probably better to follow your most responsible example.

Lol, since that's a mere ten percent of the maximum fine they can apply I'd probably be inclined to take it like a man and move on with your life  Although if you do go the "My father fought in two world wars..." route do please let us know so we can come and cheer you on from the public gallery

Decided to spare the legal system my issues and paid the fine.

The exhaust chapter is now finished. Garath @ The MX5 Restorer did an awesome job on the front section. The straight thru option sounded nice at idle and on blippy downhshifts but was far too loud inside the car.

So the Janspeed rear section was repaired and I have ended up with a Double S header teamed with a Janspeed resonator and back box. The most important bit is no leaks .. which is a nice change and a rather impressive noise when the loudness pedal is engaged to full warp factor. :D

MOT time was a protracted thing but a pass in the end with only a tyre to replace so the spare got a call up to active service.

Changed the front pads this afternoon in preparation for a track day at Brands next week. No messing around with sticking brake pistons this time thankfully and a good excuse for a quick fang before the darkness closed in. Will look at the rears tomorrow if I can get the handbrake cable off. Hopefully I can finally get the clips and springs replaced and stop the rattly rear pads.
