Re: Mk. I rear brakes.... I dream a swap!
You should be able to swap in an S2 complete rear into your S1. You will need the S2 parking brake lines and maybe the S2 prop shaft.

Re: New from Colorado USA
WIm in Belgiums FB S3 12a Carb engine, but GSL-SE style dash, AC and leather. http://mazda.kicks-ass.org/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=8 Nice looking car. It looks just like the US S3 GSL model but with the GSL-SE suspension. It also looks like it came with the GS stereo since it doesn't have t...

Re: Series 2 diff / axle?
Thanks Ian. As you know I was talking about "engineering" a hybrid axle, based on a S3 axle but with S2 brakes and Hubs re-drilled for 13" (ie. S2 110mm PCD) wheels and an MX5 LSD. However I appear to have run out of time - unless someone out there with an engineering shop can build ...

Re: New from Colorado USA
I've seen a few without it. In fact a friend of mine has an '85 base model (s) with no options at all. There is a mixture of factory installed and dealer installed as well.ian65 wrote:yeah, I read that all US spec 1st gens were supplied with air-con

Re: New from Colorado USA
I didn't know that the UK cars didn't have all the options availible. My car has everything but power steering and leather. It is very common to see A/C on the US SA's and FB's, even a base model. Most US cars from the '70s or earlier didn't usually have all those options. I'm not sure why there was...

Re: New from Colorado USA
Thanks for the welcome. A delegation, haha. You just need to get a group to make it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It's right in my back yard (30 minutes away) and I've pitted the last two years for the open wheel class. I've always wanted to go to the UK. My wife took a trip as a kid 1...

Re: New from Colorado USA
When I first picked up the car a year ago, I wasn't sure if I liked the interior. The S2's have the same interior the UK S2-S3 have. My old car was an S2 and to me they feel much more like a true sports car. This style interior has grown on me, it is much more plush and the plastic quality is very h...
