Hi folks, been a longtime rotary fan and finally gotta scratch that particular itch. I've looked around for a good FB for a while with no luck so have decided to leave the destruction of a good classic alone as I'm a little bit into my racing and trackdays.so the plan is to try and learn as much as I can about 12a engines before transplanting a BP, d and IDA equipped version into my Eunos. I hope you guys don't think this is sacrilege? I live about 4 miles from HME which I hope will help. so please expect lots of brain picking and if you guys have any parts of info that would help then it's all appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.

Good shout, dude. Steve on here did exactly that with his MX-5 before he got his RX-7, might be worth you picking his brain, certainly. Mind you, for three-grandish you could buy Mark's FB that's for sale on here and get as sorted a car as you can find in the UK. Choices, choices lol
....welcome along, by the way.

Welcome fella - by Eunos do you mean roadster aka MX5?
Adding a rotary heart to any car could never be considered sacrilege and is wholy condoned but I would offer that there are a few great FBs for sale out there at the moment to get you started right away!

Hi Dave,
welcome to the forum...... glad to find another enthusiast in the midlands!
By coincidence, we've started a new section on the forum today for cars / projects that aren't 1st gen RX7's but which, as car enthusiasts, we'd all like to read about. If you'd like to start a thread on there for your Eunos / rotary project, I'm sure we'd all like to read about it and help in any way we can.
it's here....

Also, Steve-A did that conversion himself.... a 13b rotary into an MX5..... he's the man to speak to for that conversion....
cheers,
Ian

Hi thankis guys, my little mx is a strane little lightweight model thats only 895 kg from the factory. it has a 4:3 torsen diff, big brakes, and currently bilstein shocks with eibach springs, mx5 series spec rims and 195/50/15 federal RSR tyres. i think if a nice BPd engine was thrown in with anything around a couple of hundred BHP itd be fntastic. plus as a total aside, is there as better sound than a brap brap tickover and that high rpm rotary scream?
Ill be onto the build threads ASAP to see whos doing what.
Thanks again, Dave.

Re: newbie from Coventry
Its a nice car that. a donor car would be my ideal as i could make sure the engine and box were cool before the rebuild. yours is a bit too good for that.mpk490p wrote:welcome Dave, get that MX5 brapping!......

there was a guy who had / has a wide boy series 3 in red although it has a 3.0 omega engine in it, not sure if he sold it but it was up for sale, plenty of them about at the minute just make sure you get a good shell
