Howdy Folks! So Cal guy here

I sort of stumbled on to this site by accident.
I am a supporter for what this site is trying to do for the 1st Gen RX7s.
So here I am to join into the fun.
My '85 RX7 GS has been a part of my life since the early 90s'. The original owner bought it for a few thousand dollars over MSRP. Fresh out of the university, I bought her for $3000 when all my peers went out and bought new cars. I have never owned a new car, btw. I kept her totally stock just up until recently. It now sports complete RacingBeat suspension and exhaust kits. Installed the rear axle from a GSL to get LSD and rear disks. Partially removed the interior to save weight. I'm about to buy a set of 15X7 Konig Rewinds and Nitto competition tires. I'm a total beginner going to open track day events, and I have much to learn. The other weekend my Sumitomo HTR200 tires losts grip after heating up by the 4th lap around the Streets of Willow. It was like having the idiot switch flipped suddenly. Lost so much traction, I spun out twice and really couldn't hold my own even against much heavier cars. Race and learn.
My other rotary is a 13B that is sitting in my '65 MG Midget project car. The project stalled out a few years ago. I'm hoping that my current rotary buzz will inspire me to start working on her again.
I hope this works. Trying to insert an image for me and my brown RX7 at Streets of Willow.
It's a very tight technical track. Lots of turns, well suited for smaller cars (it you have the right tires).
Currently riding on 205/60-13 on stock wheels. Soon to change...
