Coolant Level Sensor

Post by MelloYello »

I am looking to replace the coolant level sensor in the top of my radiator. My dashboard pixie goes crazy on his cymbal, and the light comes on, but the level is fine. Loose connection maybe but the wire is soon to come off so thought i would start looking now.

Is this a generic part? Does some one have a part number.

Rockauto are doing a new one.... maybe you could tag onto someone elses order to get the shipping & vat down...

it probably just a bad connection.... the sensor sends the current to earth... if you're not getting a good earth, it'll set off the light and sounder.

My FD one did this for a while before the wire wore through completely. Exceptionally irritating! You can just bridge the wire to earth and it'll never go off again, but obviously that won't help if you DO actually get a coolant level problem lol
