Hi everyone have just joined the forum, have had my series 2 for about 4 years Reg is A209ACV light blue not sure of the exact colour name have done some major restoration on this car,ie welding of outer and inner sills rear n/s and o/s rear still got a bit more to do. Most people would have scrapped this car after uncovering all the hidden rot it had. but as I have been welding cars for over 30 years starting with MOT remedial work this was not a problem to me just business as usual. Drove the RX for about 2 years then bought some compomotive split rims of ebay 2 years ago for it. It wasn't until I got them and put them on I realized I had just recreated the Carlos fandago super wide wheels slim panatella advert with an FB LOL!!!
Had some incredible luck and managed to find an unused must be 20 year old Mariah Mode 1 widebody kit for the FB down in enfield the only thing missing was the rear spoiler to go with it.
Will post some pictures soon as kit is dry fitted just need bonding and spraying. top of the rear arches were rusting badly so cut them out to fit the wheels,
this seemed like the only way to go or a new shell.

If I finished my car i am always sitting on the stairs to the garage and the look of my car let me forget all the pain before. Perhaps it will help you too. If so, please shoot some pictures 3 month waiting is far to long. :D
Get well soon!

Hi Martin,
Welcome to the Forum, like Thomas I am looking forward to pictures, I struggled with uploading pics until I opened a photobucket account & from then on its a doddle.
I had a couple of S2s with no problems apart from a leaky Oil cooler, now got a S3
What colour will it it end up :?:

Welcome along. Nice to hear that another FB has been saved from the scrappers. You have a good customer base here for remedial welding work if you have some spare time. I purchased my car in Birmingham so there's my tenuous link. Widebody kit sounds epic. 8-)

Mine also has leaky oil cooler wouldn't you know it have just found one in birmingham where I am trying to get someone to go and have look at it to see if its any good or could have mine alloy welded just leaking from thread where fitting is screwed in has hairline crack.
Got an oil filter yesterday from eurocarparts for £2:99 not bad. A good friend of mine bought a series 3 from near Poole in dorset a month ago british racing green
with a very expensive retrim in Tan leather not original colour but hes restoring it, it has 26000 original miles with all mots to back it up cost him just over £1100 including having it transported back to burntwood, We then went up to halifax 2 weeks ago and stripped a silver Y reg series 2 for parts chap who had it had it vandalized in lock up garage by some lovely people!!! Cut all wiring out for scrap and smashed all the glass shame because the bodywork was mint with no rust what so ever!! it was a beauty until it got wreaked. Still tryin to get photos on will succeed soon :)
