Testing OMP on 12A

Post by Trailblaser »

Hi all, I am planning to fire up my S2 with stock 12A in the not too distant future, and was wondering if anyone knows how to check if the OMP is working, before I start the engine for the first time in about 8 years, and hopefully without dismantling it ??

You have to test it with the engine running.

Add some 2 stroke to the fuel tank and poor a little down the carb while cranking before you do start it up properly.

Once running, disconnect the OMP pipes to the carb and let them drain into a measuring cup. See how much you get over a fixed period of time. I can't remember what it should be but I think it's in the Haynes manual.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......
