I don't think I've introduced myself

Names Hayden and I live on the edge of SE London. I'm one of the founders of the Exile forum which we started back in 2006. I'm 34, married with two kids (boy and girl).

Building the engine down at Eras place (big ups for that man, he always looks after me). He did most the work btw, I only did the rotors

Hi Hayden and welcome. I've never spoken to Era, just exchanged one or two emails, but if I ever need an engine rebuild I figure he's my man.
I've got it all planned: Era doesn't know, and I do hope I won't need him, but if it failed I'd get my daughter's partner Paul (Alfa mechanic with his own set up) to supply some brute force to lift the engine out, I'd ship it down to B'stoke and then after a rebuild I'd show Paul how to bolt it back in!

I'd want my own engine 'cos I've nursed it for ever.

I'm afraid I'm getting just too old to be swinging on big spanners too much now.....That is a tragedy that comes to us all.....

That's a great intro Hayden...nice one! It's reminded me to do my intro on Exile as well...kept putting it off.
I've seen pictures of that 2 tone fb knocking about... didn't the shell end up in Ireland or am I thinking of another car?
Serious A post rot in the RX3 as well.... gruesome.

Dave, all I would say is get it touch and book a slot as soon as poss. He's always real busy with the HKS engines so can be a bit of a wait if it's not all arranged in advance.

Yes Ian, I sold it to Glen who owns Rotorworks in Northern Ireland. Threre's some pics of it somewhere with a renesis block in it. Haven't heard much about it lately, but he has a lot on the go and about 4 project cars. Lachie always refered to it as the christmas tree

Steve-A, they were a lucky find mate! Not much about in 4x110 these days.

Tim, haha all I can say is it's an old photo. To add insult I was actually wearing a Ford t-shirt that day but used my MS Paint skillz it white it out.

Thanks H but I'm only planning 'what if my engine goes bang'. It's fine at the moment.

It's the original N/A 12A that's never hit the buzzer, oil pressure's massive even when hot, My idea of speed is hurtling to Tesco at 50mph and it's had every oil change at 3000 miles or less.

Still only got 54,400 on it.

I'm sure you'll be fine then. Unless you really want a brand new engine or internal mods, second hand blocks are a winner. Plenty about and cheap as chips. Didn't you know the buzzer is like a bullseye? If you're not hitting it every gear change your not doing it right!
