Hey All!
My name is Kirk and I just recently purchased a Silver 1984 GS from an original owner, appox. 79,000k. Car is in great condition, expect for the driver who dropped it off at the house. He managed to rip the front bumper off and damaged the rear swap bar connection end while driving off the ramp from a flat bed. The bumper needed to be painted regardless, but disappointing nonetheless.
I'm going to keep the car as a summer project car. I also managed to get my hands on a 83 series 2 LE? rx7. I was hoping it was the GSL-SE with the 13b and rear differential with the limited slip. It does however have the glass sunroof and the center tach. I shall install in the future. I want to port the engine out from this car and probable sell the rest of the car for parts, keeping some for myself. Porting looks like a lot of work. Any ideas for modding would be great.
I want to keep the car clean. First mod is upgrading the front end steering and swap bar. I'm thinking RE-speed 1/15 rack and pinion with the light sway bar they offer.
I will post up some pics come mid January when I get back home.
Greeting!

Hi Kirk,

I'd love to see some photos of the LE...... we never got that model over here.... I've only ever seen one in dealer brochures.
Glad to have you on board.

Re: Greeting!
Hey Chug. I am from Newfoundland, Canada.
Thanks Chc ! Really excited to take the SE out for a drive. But the snow is a problem at the moment haha
Ian! I will get many pics as I said. The LE is in rough shape. I wanted to get the center tach. from the car. He said I could have the car for $500. little steep, but He wouldn't let it go for less. He said the 12a in it was rebuild and has 80k on the motor. It hasn't been started in 2 years apparently and never quite ran right. I want to port it and get it a new exhaust and intake with a good rad. maybe a lighter flywheel and clutch. Any suggestions would be great!! I'll have to do some research of course. Mild street port is my aim. Rotaryengine(dot)com in Alberta seems to be my best bet. If anyone knows another, Let me know! Not sure what shipping would cost. My location in Nfld has limitations for modding vehicles :/

Re: Greeting!
Hey hey, welcome along!
I'd be interested in seeing some pics, too. In fact, fair to say we all love good pics. I was going to suggest there are a couple of rotary specialists in Toronto, but then realised how stupid that'd be. In England you kinda get used to the fact nothing can ever really be that far away, but just because two places are in Canada doesn't mean they're anywhere near lol
Ignore me, I'm talking bollocks

Re: Greeting!
OKay! So I was outside just last week and noticed that the LE I talked about earlier has disk brakes in the rear. It could very well be a GSL. The car has cruse control with the M/T, power steering, power windows, glass moon-roof. does the GSL come with Limited slip? all in all I'm really excited that it has the rear disk brakes. I'm going to do a conversion come the summer. Hopefully they're not in too bad of shape. The car has been sitting for a few years outside in the harsh elements.
Peace!
Peace!

Re: Greeting!
....and I will also post some pics up around the end of may, say the 25th. I'm planning a trip soon and I work offshore so it's hard to find time right now to get to the location of the cars.
I'll get some pics for ya Lucky!
and Toronto is a few days away from here. Living on an island has it's pros and cons. I think it would be my best bet though
No one does rotaries on the island (as far as I know)
I'll get some pics for ya Lucky!

Re: Greeting!
Hey Everyone! I totally forget about my account on here and feel like a jerk. So I finally got some pics up for you guys. Hope you enjoy. It's not much but yea. These are fairly new and the mods I've been doing.
Right now I'm in the process of installing the GSL rear end with disk brakes and the LSD. I'm also going to loosen up the rear end by putting on some nylon lock nuts with lock tight, Just a snug fit. Also removing the rear sway bar. We'll see how it all goes in a week or two. Pretty excited to try her out.
