Bit of an uninspired choice of camera mounting point on the driving footage, though :? You need a new TWR decal, Dave, lol ;)

The camera position was down to Mr Page (he's the one driving the Eclat).

I'd thought about replacing the decals with the Volvo Racing version

It looks like someone has painted over the originals anyway in an attempt to highlight them. Whatever I do, I don't want it to involve respraying anything so I guess that means I'm stuck with the status quo for the meantime. :(

TBH I gave them a good selection of right pedal action to choose from! The microphone was actually on the back seats so you don't get wind noise but then you don't get a lot of exhaust noise either. Gave them some red line buzzer action and pop pop bang overrun samples which appear to have made it as far as the cutting room floor :D

You know how we have those jobs that we are always going to do ... like one day ... when I get the time?

I've always meant to look at the clutch slave cylinder as the fluid has always been dark and that's the first sign of trouble. It's in a right prick of a place too, only because the darn oil cooler is in the way. I'd tried bleeding it before too but the nipple refused to part company with such an old friend so it became one of those jobs that required a round tuit.

So when the pedal stuck down the first time, I bought a new slave cylinder which had become surplus to Ramon's requirements. And then discovered how the oil cooler was in the way and did I really want to remove that again?

And over a year pased by. And the pedal stuck down once in that period. And I still did not look for my round tuit.

I went to visit James yesterday, on the premise of getting together as we both had the day off but really because I wanted to see his new ride

As is the Exile way, James suggested I should bring some bits along for any jobs I needed to do and we could have a day playing with cars. So this was my opportunity to finally get a round tuit and fix the damn thing.

My advice here is if you notice brake or clutch fluid turning dark, DON'T leave it for over a year before doing something about it otherwise this will happen ....

Dust bellows were the only thing preventing Satans bottom bile from escaping. This was happily moving back and forth thru the system

And a good time to use the first of my red braided brake hoses from Canada land

New slave finally fitted

And for those of you with a TOOL fetish (not you Andrew) my first chance to use these bad boys ...

Thanks to James (RedArrow) for valued assistance and also the ride in MelloYello which made West Dulwich somewhat less dull. 0-0

Dear Friends

Time for banging on and boring you all to death again.

Change your brake fluid AND clutch fluid every 2 or 3 years.

That saves all your seals from failure. Please do it, you know grandad's always right about such prevention measures.

The way to stop the nipples rounding is to break the tight nip with a deep barrel socket first, then switch to more user friendly open ended spanners or brake pipe spanners.

Don't you just hate it when your bits dangle untidily in mid air? Well I do and I decided to do something about it!!

Because TWiR has spurned the factory exhaust manifold in favor of some Janspeed headers (or extractors if you will), there is nothing to connect the warm air ducting that goes to the air cleaner assembly. And this kinda got me all OCD until I consulted the big interweb entity which is called EBay ....

Please can I have 1x flexible ducting tube and 1x thermal reactor heat sheild?

And as luck would have it, the mountings still contained screws :) The dishwasher did such a good job that painting can wait for a while!

One job down, no added performance plus added weight

Neat job Dave, but you know what you need to top it off................A nice blue blanking plug for that unused pipe on the air filter box.
P.M me your address and I will pop you one in the post, beats gaffa tape ;)
