Nice to see you've a lot of fun with your well made and very nice car.
Iam not sure but your starts i can see on the Video, show me your bigger wheel on the rear makes your car slower cause the engine needs to long for reving up. As Tool say: test a change in the diff ratio.

Well that was an eventful day out. Left home at 0530 and returned at 2215. Glad I am not working today.

Had some fun on the way up with Nik, Tool, and myself attempting to convoy our way there. I say attempt because thanks to a fuel pump that decided to work only some times I had dropped off the pace and in the moments that followed Nik and Tool lost each other. Very amusing but we got there eventually.

Arrived to an already impressive line up of FBs, the best in some time I bet, and met/caught up with faces old and new.

I spent a lot of time queuing. At the entrance. At sign on for the hillclimb. At the entrance to the hillclimb. At the start and finish of my 3 runs up the hillclimb. Got to meet and talk to some interesting folk while queuing so not all wasted time. And got to sit behind the Benetton Formula 1 car as it shot up the hill!

The hillclimb itself was fun. Although the first two runs were inhibited by the lack of fuel. So if you saw the first two runs and it sounded like i was backing off - I was not. The third run however was a blast with the pump running as it should.

On my return I found only gtjames left at the stand :(

As the sun was still shining and my mind was all things automotive I decided to travel further into the hills of Worcestershire and visit a lady that I had met a couple of years ago when she was trying to sell her S1. My memory proved right and I was able to locate her house. Nobody appeared to be home so I wrote a note and was placing it in her letterbox when I heard a voice from above - " is that an RX7" as the lady hung out of her upstairs window. Short story is it is still in her ownership and I just need to turn up with the cash that she is asking. It is still how i remember, overall very solid, with a rusted left rear arch, 80-odd-thousand mile on the clock. Interior is sweet apart from a few rips. A gamble I am willing to take.

So feeling good I started on my way home. By this stage my phone had gone flat and I am a good 4 hours drive from home. Pulling out of the Warwick services on the M40, I am cruising along at 70mph, I move into the middle lane to pass a truck, the traffic ahead is beginning to build up in a concertina effect so I back of the accelerator . . . . . . . . BANG. Rear ended. Fuck me, if I was doing maybe 60mph how fast must this lady have been going? And to not see a yellow car with its lights on??

It was an almighty hit as you can see by the damage to her car, and fark I am sore today. A lesser driver would have gone into either lane and caused more problems. Does not look too bad in the photos but it is damaged pretty bad underneath and you can see the damage to the exhaust tip. The impact managed to dislodge the electric radiator fan!!

Still had to drive all the way to SE London.

Oh, dude, that absolutely ****ing sucks  Feel your pain. It was obviously a bad day for incompetent women drivers on the motorways yesterday, after some fossilised old crone in a Corolla very nearly sideswiped me and Jo off the road too

Got a couple of rear bumpers round the back of the shed, I think. One of them may well even have come off your car originally. We did try to get hold of you before we cleared off, but mobile phone reception was at a bit of a premium. Tried to leave you a voicemail though? If it's any consolation, I only got home just before ten and that was without stopping to have an accident :?

it's things like that, which you now understand what the police say about not paying attention on the road.
yes it's beyond me how in a bright yellow car with your lights on they still didn't see you.

it doesn't look too bad from the pic, but then as you say its the underneath and damage to you.
we are talking classic car etc so its the whole hassle of fixing. the amount of people i have heard saying about people changing lanes or pulling
out in front of them, no one uses bloody mirrors anymore or stops at junctions, right pain in the jacksy.

very annoying i know. i hope you get sorted and your visit to the other fb makes up for it all.

holy shit, gutted for you James, what a crap way to end your day out :( Hope it doesn't prove to be anything too serious....... get a whiplash claim in, it'll pay for the series 1 that you went to look at which may sweeten things somewhat.

Not as bad as I was expecting bro. Trying to be positive for you.

Bumper. Rear balance. Is the rear upper panel bent?

Keep us up to date on progress.

PS crazy old nana tried to run Nik off the road. Bonkers.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......
