It's not purely for track use so so I doubt if James would want to go too radical with it..... nothing worse than something that's overdone and completely untrackable around town..... it look like it strikes just the right balance at the moment between being a fast road car and occasional track car. Did you use a lightened fly on it Mark or a stock one?

I hear what you're saying.
A S4 NA box will give him a much better 5th gear. The 4.3 ratio (my choice) would give him the low down too. I think it would work on street and track.

I looked into that as my FB now has the S4 box - from what I read, the UK cars have the same 5th as the S3 box, it was only the US cars that had the taller 5th.
James fella - looking awesome. What a fun day out! Out of curiosity, what were the quicker cars running?

the fastest Escort mk2 rally cars were doing 94secs
mitsi evos & subaru imprezas were doing 88-94secs
turbo mr2 doing 91secs
porsce GT3 doing 89secs
fastest mx5 doing 98secs
honda S2000 doing 92secs
At the moment I am happy to be out there exploring the abilities of the car which at the current time are greater than my driving abilities. But I am enjoying being out there learning. After 1 event I am not to worried about my times as long as they are improving. At the moment I am using the 1600cc MX5 as a yard stick.
As for where I place in my group I will always be at the bottom because i class as "modified production". My mods are mild compared to some but they are not factory therefor my classification.
What I really need is some other rotaries joining the events ......hint hint.......less talk more action

Sounds like great fun and hopefully where i'm heading with my car eventually - just struggling to find time for all the mods at the moment. I'd like to be amongst it end of the summer but at the current rate it may be next year
