My votes for bronze, think it would sit awesome against the blue.

I'm liking the direction this thread is going 8-)

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I still can't decide on the colour for the wheels - the bronze is actually a bit more gold in reality, not sure the car is dark enough to get away with it. I will try to darken the gold down by using a black case coat, see if that helps...
I might also try bronze backing with silver spokes and rim...I'll try anything once

Them some big arches :o where did you get them? Think you might need some spacers to fill them out a bit more. Oh and drop it an inch or two
I think the wheels would look good gloss black.

The arches are from Paul at Magic Aero
http://www.magicaero.co.uk/
I used the large arch, seems to fit pretty well. I had them made in the Magic-Original FRP, much more flexible than standard fibre-glass

I have ordered some 1" spacers, which will bring the wheels out nicely. ;)

I have fitted lowering springs, but it hasn't really dropped too far - I think the old ones were so saggy, it probably raised the car  As I am nearly out of funds, this will have to be low enough...for now ;)

Cool mods Marc.... it's going to look aggressive on those wheels and with those arches..... personally I'd do the wheels satin black but we probably all have a different opinion!
Hope you don't mind me moving your thread.... more people will probably pick it up in this section...

Hi Marc,

Great project. Sorry to hear that your car was keyed, that sucks and frustrates the hell out me.

Still looks like you are well on the way to a lovely motor. I have to go with the bronze/gold rims. That or maybe a a titanium or black chrome look? You seem to have a very nice collection of cars in and around the garage also hey.
Good luck with the project mate

Been playing with wheel colours

SIlver...and graphite

Image

and bronze

and black

and all four together...

Still undecided

The silver, although I like it, and it shows off the features of the wheel, sort of stands out quite a lot...and Karissa really doesn't like it :(
The bronze doesn't suit the pale blue paintwork in my opinion...lovely colour, would look great on a black car...
The black looks mean, and suits the wide arch look I think...just a shame it makes the wheels look smaller, and loses some of the definition...maybe a gloss black would be better...
The graphite is nice and dark, which suits the look, but has a tint of blue in it, which doesn't work - maybe a better graphite would be ok. Just needs to be dark enough to contrast with the tyres a bit...

Not easy this wheel choosing game

Graphite works for me. Both it and the black make the car look tough as a junkyard dog 8-) , but the graphite still shows some of the detail of the wheel design off, whereas it's lost a bit on the black.

SILVER is definitely the better shade for 'VYV' - the graphite & black look to me like steel rims with the hub caps removed.

I might try black with a silver rim one evening this week, see how that works...

Karissa really likes them in black, probably because she's not that keen on the detail of the wheels, and the darker colour hides it

With the arches and skirts...I am starting to really like the dark wheels...I think they'll be gloss black :D
