Sunday was easily the best car-based day out that i have ever had. With a total track time of under ten minutes you might be understandably sceptical. But this was a professionally organised setup with strict MSA rules, scrutineering, marshalls, official timers, etc. With all the build up, walking the course, drivers meeting, chatting between runs, the day flies by.
Firstly a big thanks goes to Mark for putting this car together. I pushed it as hard as I could and it held together. The cars limits are higher than my driving skills and while I had it twitching under breaking and through the corners it was so nicely balanced that I never felt like it was about to lose it.
Also a big thanks to Dave who came out and kindly took some footage. It may look tame but inside the heart was racing and the adrenaline was pumping. So looking forward to my next event.
Here is a map of the course at North Weald, an air strip that resembled an abandoned car park. Not the smoothest as video will show.

Results of my runs
Awesome day out.
And to top it off as I was pulling up to go home and a 3 year old kid jumps off his scooter points at my car and says to his mum "look mum it's a real race car!". Kids don't lie.

Video of the first run for you James ... unfortunately this was from my little camera and the sun was right on the screen so hard to track you in some places (Ron Howard won't be calling me anytime soon)

The grown up camera did a much better job.
Was an awesome day out .... now Calm Down Dear!!

Wow looks like great fun!
I love the semi slick tyres. Was thinking of getting some for mine but I am not too sure what they would be like on a wet motorway. I must say I liked the previous alloys you had more. PM me if you are looking to sell them!

glad you enjoyed your day James..... I know you bought the car specifically for motor sport events so to get it out on the track must have been a real buzz. You look as if you're really hitting some speed in the video as well....usually in videos, cars look like they are going slow....I took a single seater around Oulton Park once and it felt like I was really flying but when I saw the video of it, it looked as if I was out for a Sunday drive. You look as if you are really shifting.
Has the car ever been dyno'd since Mark finished it?.... curious to know what it puts out.

It was dyno''d with the previous 48IDA on it now with the 51IDA I presume is still on it, will let James disclose the BHP if he wants, intention was to always port the motor further than a street port and everything is ready to do that if he wants to chase more power

You would benefit greatly from changing the diff ratio from a 3.9 to a 4.3 or 4.4. You will be much quicker to get away and stay in the higher revs. What box is it, a S4 NA?
I doubt the 51 will make too much of a difference, except right at the top end. It's overkill on a streetport.
