The disaster continued today.

After literally 2 days of solid rain it finally dried out, however half way through spraying the adjustment dial on my cheap gun dropped off and the spring pinged out. (No idea where it ended up)
This meant that the gun basically had a constant feed of paint as the needle was only in the open position, dripped all over the bloody panels I was doing. :(

I also had a massive load of paint mixed up, in the end I poured it into my LVLP gun and blasted it on with that I managed to recover it somewhat, but its a 1.8 tip so the paint is a bit orange peely and I still have a few drips and runs.

Now I see why people pay to have this done.
Going to try and sand it out tomorrow and see if I need to coat again. If so I'll be buying a high quality HVLP gun with a 1.4 tip.
Bloody cars haha.

Bugger! That's a damn shame aye. I've had a few mates that say a good gun is definitely worth it aye!

I remember back home in NZ that 2k paint used to be all over the place! Not sure what it's like these days haha

Exactly. As nice as they look and quick as those Pac cars go. All of their cars are exactly the same really aye. So much money just thrown at them for the same packages. They did upload pictures of their wiring on Facebook a while ago. It looked extremely scary  and people definitely let them know! The picture was quickly taken down

The colour match is actually spot on, it looks really different because I've not flatted and buffed it yet, got a bit of orange peel & a couple of runs to take out.

Nice to be able to drive it again though :D

I do like the Pac cars, but of course we never see them in person over here, so its more I like the photos.
Some of the wiretucks look pretty sweet.

I'm taking my car to one of caffeine and machine's "daikoku nights" next week. Its a monthly evening meet up for japanese cars. So with that as an excuse I fitted some LED underglow lights  Yes they're tacky, but from photo's of the event, led lights are pretty popular!

They're not very good, it came with horrible chrome bullet style mirrors bodged onto the original base, but didn't come with the original mirror part, and I don' like the original mirrors anyway. So I bought some cheap mirrors off ebay that looked fairly "period" but more rounded and fitted them to the original base, they're not great though, although look nicer than the original square cricket bats. They are too close to the window and don't point up enough, they're not adjustable. I want to re do them at some point, I might use the 3D printer at work to make a new base!

no dilemma... just want to clarify some measurements, and which way I want to go with brakes ie: fc calipers and custom brackets (grannyspeed sells a kit or make my 5letter ones to fit using custom designed brackets (me) or use ford stuff... which I need to replace due to rusted condition it all came with.. but then the ebrake wont work...

then I also need to get axle face to axle face measurements from stock axle compared to my custom rear setup... then know if my current rims will work... if they dont then I may just buy a pair of 5 bolt ones to suit and run stock ford axles... Im hoping the length overall is about an inch less, then if my thoughts are correct it will bring my current rims in nicely as they sit right out and if I lower it more it will rub... so far it doesnt where it sits...

THEN I need to finish my custom brackets for the control arms.. ie flowjet them at work.. but what Id like to do is get a half cut of a first gen and using the stock arms etc hang it on a wall/stand as a jig then be able to locate exactly where to weld to locate the rear end correctly.. then once that is done I need to make a bracket for the watts link??.... or I have to drop the rear end out of my car and I dont want to do that till it blows up or till Im ready.. Id rather not blow it up as I could sell it for a few hundo and pay for the 8.8 conversion Ive created haha

My door seals tore so I finally got the new ones on. I covered them in gummi pfledge before I fitted them, and I also went over the hatch and sunroof seal whilst I was at it too. I used a tool meant for tiling to ping the old clips off, and the stubborn ones I used pliers carefully, trying not to mark the paint.

I also had the neighbor's cat come round to help
