First time owner, long time fan

Post by MelloYello »

Hi Guys

So many questions...... but intro first

I have always loved RX7s since my flatmate back in NZ had a silver FB with wine interior and bridge port all dropped to the deck on massive rims. SO when i was looking for a new car and this came on my radar and could not help myself.

Although i have driven one before i am a novice when it comes to ownership. All the terms and tech speak is slowly being taken on board.
Would loved to catch up with other FB owners if there are any in the London area.

And where does everyone go for servicing etc....

Cheers
James

Hi James, a warm welcome to the forum!

Love your car, that's a very clean series 2

Is it this car?...

Hi Ian

Yes that is the one. Do you know it. Did not come with much history, but seems OK.

Hi,
Nice fb,not many s2's left.
Servicing most owners do their own, very easy & cheap[apart from spark plugs],if you scour ebay for the bits.
ta stu..

I don't mate.... I saw it for sale and it was posted on here in the spotters thread... Dave Nock aka Codge logs all known 1st gens in the Uk .. I think it was a new one on him too but Dave will pop up over the weekend and will be able to tell you what he knows about it.
A few of the lads liked the look of this car but its location put them off.... it's a long way to Edinburgh!
The seller reckoned it had an Elford turbo engine in it... it that right?

Sure does :D And what appears to be some TWR body kit, an early one, minus the chin spoiler from damage i suspect. Hard to find much info about early TWR RX7s.

I bought a return ticket last Monday, London to Edinburgh. Worth the risk i thought. Drove it back the same day - did not miss a beat. I am in love.

I'd better post it up into the Elford turbo gallery then.... welcome to an exclusive club... only around 20 Elfords left now... a rare animal.
I did the same thing when I bought my car... caught the train down to Bournemouth from Stafford and then drove it back through the Cotswolds in the sunshine...magic!!
