I was always under the impression that US LHD aero mirrors didn't work on UK RHD cars which is why we source them from Aus

That impression is correct they wont fit direct but going to try some experimental surgery and try and find a solution to get them to fit. Time to dig out the thinking cap.

Will they not work because of the angling of the lense or another issue? I've got my eye on some on a car in the US at the moment but as I'm a left hooker I was hoping they'd slap straight on.

I think its the arms that are specific to rhd/lhd

They should fit straight to a lhd car, the arms for left and right are different lengths and angles, on looking at my other set i got they have some sort of mounting block which are missing from the set i looked at first. The mounting block near enough gets it in right place but it is going to need a bit of massage for a good fit.
That is correct it is a 323 and that is a project that got put on hold due to many other projects that are going on at the moment. ;)
