Jumbo - B747 LRK

Post by DB RX63 »

This is Jumbo, a replacement for my Silver Series 2 RYE 992Y that was stolen and crushed...........It still makes me mad, the car had a Tim White built engine with less than 2,000 miles with new housings !

Anyway time to move on, The Elford is kept wrapped up nice and safe having been fully sorted this year after 7 years in storage and will have bodywork and mechanicals sorted over time. It will stay completely original.

Jumbo will be tidied up and upgraded to get the most out of her.

In the right of the picture is Peter the chap I bought her from, courtesy of a forum member who put me in touch with Pete, who is a very sprightly 80yr old who until yesterday had two FB's. The chap with the straps is my good friend Mike who trailered her back to Hastings for me.

So I will have an RX that I can play with and have on the road & driveway, oh and the missus can drive sometimes...........

More pics later

Yep,

It's a perfect base, totally original and well looked after by Pete, very slightly tatty in places, but nothing at all serious.

All in all a lovely RX and yes great colour too.

Cheers

Looks like a good purchase.

I'd got Jumbo down as sharing a garage with another car and belonging to 'some old guy'. Listen to me.
Good to put a name to Pete.

You think RYE is definitely crushed then? I hope I'm not being morbid....I would like to keep my register straight though.

Hi Dave,

I have it on good authority that RYE is no more, from the rozzers.........

It's spirit (and bits of my knuckles) will live on in Jumbo !
