Headlights?

Post by MelloYello »

Hey guys,

Hoping you can help me as my head lights have stopped working - they do not come on or pop up.

my parking lights come on.
the light units will raise up and down when using the manual switch.
But when using the light switch there is nothing.

I am thinking maybe a relay?
Fuses appear to be okay.

Open to all ideas.

I’d say to start with a volt meter and test that the switches work first… then check the output of the relay which is in the NSF of the engine bay.. between the battery and the headlight stop adjustment screw..

I’d also check that your fusible links aren’t loose and have a good connection. I had a similar issue with my previous RX7 and it was a bad connection on the fusible link

Yeah similar to above aye. A multimeter probing a bunch of different areas to see if you can find any issues. The manual switch working is making me think the stalks may be a bit iffy

I seem to remember Ian having an issue with headlights ages ago. I can't remember if it was similar to this or what though :?

Have you looked at Ian's post in Electrics titled What goes up must come down?

Also, turn your ignition off and operate the stalk back and forth a bunch of times. This has worked for me before, it clears corrosion from the contacts.

I suspect it could ultimately be a relay issue though.
