Nasty starter

Hi All,

So, Ive been commisioned to make a 12a powered Lada Riva......i know !! ..... They made a rotary variant at some point so it wouldnt look out of place.

Went to do compression test on the chosen power plant and the starter wont play ball.

using a jump starter pack on the terminals.....It spins up with some horibble grumbling noises / noisy bearings etc.

I suspect that due to the above its not spinning quick enough for the centrifugal forces to throw the pinion out and engage with the flywheel...

Does anyone have any spares they would sell?
Recommended a source for buying new/reconditioned?
Suggest a compatible alternative ..... i.e will an RX8 one fit etc?
