ChrisR wrote: Sun Aug 15, 2021 8:06 am I've been watching this out of idle curiosity, rather than as a prospective bidder, but just so you are all aware this guy appears to be playing games, and possibly trying to bid up the price himself. Shortly before the auction closed the price was £7300 with 25 bids, and then mysteriously the price dropped to £6900 with 23 bids. Bid 25 was an auto bid, and when bid 24 was withdrawn, the price defaulted to autobid 23, with same buyer. This buyer was also the 2nd bidder to initially bump up the price after a small long shot bid was placed, and continued to auto bid throughout the history. See:-

I suspect he was left holding the last bid and decided to withdraw it hoping that the previous highest bidder stood. only to find that he was still holding the bid, given that the previous highest bidder had already withdrawn. Now however its for auction again starting bid £6000. See:-

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154569577900 ... 4569577900

In short if anyone by chance is interested then, taking full note of Ian's comments above, proceed with caution. I personally don't think this guy is to be trusted. NB as well the paint job is a quick lazy one given that inside all the shut lines the body work is still white. Note no pictures inside the engine bay and a somewhat tatty interior!
This guy is absolutely playing games. I offered him £7,000 before the auction and he said no he wants £10k. I could tell from about day 3 the bid wouldn’t be going up beyond what I offered, real shame that he’s so persistent especially when the car is, compared to other examples, an absolute shambles. Hopefully he’ll see sense and take the loss but I definitely won’t be buying it anytime soon.

Another red one for sale on Facebook.
It is a very early series 2 being 'W' reg.
The seller reckons it is an Elford turbo but not convinced they are Elford spoilers
Lot of work to get it back on the road

First sighting in almost a month! I've been waiting for this. Front wing rust doesn't seem like too much of a problem, I can't really estimate what the bid will go up to but I'm planning on having a look regardless.

I saw the bidding on Ebay finished at £2050. Did you go for it?

Not a terrible price - I didn't go and see it as I did with C727 CKL unfortunately, as an MR2 popped up on Facebook Marketplace and I was looking into that. Also it's pretty far away although I sort of wish I had gone now, 2 grand does sounds fair.

Is this one that’s just popped up on Ebay known to the register ? Looks a much better bet than the last one.
