Very overdue project !!!

Post by Porters2 »

Hi everyone,
Stumbled across this forum and thought maybe i would share my project, purchased a 1983 fb 15 years ago and now I have retired i reckon it’s time to get started on it lol, I dry stored it 15 yrs ago and did a bit of work on it such as buying a donor car and fitting full interior and most exterior panels, I have a plethora of spares such as two engines in bits and an Elford turbo engine in the car that needs a rebuild now. I have bumpers and gearboxes spare if anyone is in need?? Even a set of ultra rare early series 1 square bumpers. I have every intention of starting the resurrection this year so thought I might share the process with likeminded folks.
Cheers, Steve.

Hello, I am in Essex near the Dartford crossing, and I will of course try to help out if anyone else is in need.

Well lots of fun and memories from the 80s while stripping the engine, last time I started it 12yrs ago it filled the street with smoke so I knew it was in need of a set of o-rings at the very least, as it turns out that was all it needed, I stripped and measured/ cleaned everything and reassembled with new o-rings (acquired from eBay for £100 , listed as for 86-2000 engine but took a chance as I seem to remember them being the same, only one that didn’t fit was the OMP one, could be due to my turbo OMP having 4 ports).
Anyway it’s now running on the test rig in the workshop, as you will see if I can attach a short video, and pleased to say that it doesn’t smoke 😁.
