Dwayne last changed the oil in 2018 but it has only done 200 miles since.
For safety sake I think I will get the oil and filter change I am sure that it sitting around with so little use can't be good for it

* 1100 - 1200 is correct for an Elford, they idle higher than a stock FB

* You're missing the throttle assist spring, I'll post a photo of it tomorrow.... 2 minute job to fit it and you don't even need any spanners.... that will make the revs shut down when you release the throttle

* The Elford set up with the single HIF44 SU is the most reliable 1st gen setup I've ever come across, once it's working you won't have to mess with it.
Thanks Ian but where do I get one?
Also what do you think of the oil that seems to have traces of water ingression?
Ian I have been on the Elford Section of the SU website and that spring is not shown.
Is it a Mazda part?

Hi Kevin,

no, it's a bespoke part handmade by Elford Engineering back in the day.... the chances of finding one are nil I reckon although they are a very simple mod that they came up with. PM me your address and I'll make you a copy of mine and send it to you.

I could be wrong, but I think the driver's side is the same? Series 2 only came with driver's side mirror, S3 with both sides.

I have a chance to buy a passenger door mirror but the seller is not sure if it is series 2 or 3.
Obviously i need to make sure they are the same as i don't want different mirrors on JAZ

Hi Malcolm
This is the mirror I was looking at, it doesn't look like the one on JAZ

Just checked a photo of my black Elford which is series 3 and they are the same as my series 2, so not sure what the one for sale is. Any ideas?

My S2 and S3 mirrors are both identical to your S3 mirrors.

The mirror in the smaller picture certainly looks to have the same door mount and general shape - I'm thinking it's a non-electrical one? Maybe the S1 FB's were manual and not electric?
