I know that the engine in my car was not the original one. The serial number on it shows that it has to be a much earlier one. So you may be richt here. I still think that the damage is done by years of standing with only water in it. Just looking at the amount of rust everywhere.

So it has been a while, time for some updates. Cleaned and repaired the taillights. Repainted the plastic parts from the interior and repaired the washerpump. This one was completely ceased up deu to a very rusted motor. Took it apart, cleaned and greased it, and reassembled it. Works perfect! It took me by surprise, how much pressure that thing makes.

All the interior panels were very faded. Red is the worst color, because it absorbs the infrared rays of the sunlight. Gave them a good wash in soapy water and a mild scubbing with a scoaring cloth. Degreasing with prepaint and a coat of plastic primer. I had a few spraycans made up from a color sample, semi gloss. Three layers of this paint did the job.

The door cards, i still need to look at these, not done yet. On first sight, onely the upper sides need attention. Lot of wear and tear...driving elbow out, i suppose  I think a new piece of vinyl or leather wil do the job here. Once done, i will post some pics and info.
