That is the same as the s1 where the whole of the handle lifts to open the door. On both my S3's the top of the handle stays still and there is a lift up section underneath that opens the latch.

Also that auto box would have tempted me Keith. As an old Josser, usually driving round laid back with my feet on the dashboard it would have really suited.

Swaps have been done both ways before. You should do it! Auto needs kick down solenoid and I think there's probably other emissions related stuff but you'll probably bin that anyway.

Funny red line on the speedo @ 60mph. For What?

All JDM speedos are like that. National speed limits are 80 to 100 km/h. Some cars (like my TE55 Corolla Levin) had an annoying plinky plink warning that activates over 100km/h. Very easy though to find the little box from which the annoying sound emanates and disconnect the wire.

maybe I got it wrong and it's the UK/Europe spec that's the odd one out with door handles. I know UK and US spec is different, on S2 and S3 anyhow.

Also yeah many JDM delivered cars have chimes and things at 64mph, AE86s definitely have a chime, and initial D fans go mad for functioning chimes

These are brand new Oz spec handles from my collection, same part number as US and Japan. I checked in the parts booms

Unfortunately UK ones are not the same, I have two sets of these US spec handles, they don't work on UK cars..........................

Do you know anyone in Aus who wants a set or 2 ?

Difficult to find Japanese woman, aren't they very small. You can marrie her and teach english or french language if you can find her
