Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
I spotted a black s2 or 3 car in motherwell, North Lanarkshire. Unfortunetly I wasnt in a position to get the registration, are any known around here and have been off the road a while?
It looked to have been sitting in a locked yard for some time.

1 X Black S3 noted in Southern Scotland.
1 X Black S2 noted in Grampian
That's it for Black cars north of the border, but I don't think either are long term lay-ups.

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
I'll try and get the registration next time I'm up, although it may be a long time, it was just a chance glimpse as I passed,in not often up that way.
Its on Google maps(registrations not visible), if anyone's near Motherwell I can pm the address, it's a locked yard near the football grounds

A169GHF
Series 2 for sale £10,000

A brief history
I bought this car around 3 years ago, before that it spent several years of its life in very good dry storage. Before that I believe it was in long term ownership by a female teacher. I was trying for around six years to buy this vehicle and eventually the owner gave in, as having being stood so long and him not having much knowledge of mechanics, the car would not start. A fuel tank change, new fuel and carb rebuild, it was good to go.
The car has had a full re-spray previous to my ownership and is not the original paint. During my ownership it has gone through a major overhaul....
Since my ownership
The fuel tank was removed and treated and painted, while it was out the under side of the car in this area had a wax oil treatment applied, the condition of the underside was as new with zero rust (I have photos of this just not in this advert)
Brakes were refurbed, new brakes lines, discs and pads
The gear box removed and overhauled (New release bearing/clutch/pressure plate)
All engine bay components removed and restored
Clutch and brake cylinder overhauled and restored
Stock engine removed and sold

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
Looks a nice restomod this one. Oldone Bridgeport with ceramic apex seals sounds like a good spec to if it can be verified by paperwork. Is the car know to the forum?

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
It's a hell of alot of work! What would the cost of the engine be alone never mind the rest? If the works up to scratch must be worth it?
