Black 1983 S2

Post by Ulvegrip »

This will be the documentation thread for the Black S2 from 1983 that I own.

For now you will have to make du with a few pics and some intentions, probably won't happen much in the next 2-3 months.

I've attached a picture of the beauty taken just after it got home.

And here is a link to video from when I tested it around the garage the day we picked it up.

The car came with a complete extra grey interior with red stripes in much better condition than the misserable one that is currently installed, so obviously a few beers and and fellow rotorheads and I will spend a weekend or two swapping this come summer.
The car is also equipped with crap tires and busted radiator which are up for fixing before summer. I will keep the rotor alloys and get some new tyres, hopefully I will have money to have the alloys blasted and powder-coated first.

The grand plan for the car is to keep it black with an orange contrast colour-scheme (enginebay, rims and axles and such parts in orange), possibly fit front/side/rear skirts to it. and if all goes well a half-brigde, either with carbs or megasquirt.

The emission stuff is still there (will put a header in there instead as soon as possible), and It looks much like the standard dual exhaust muffler (I have honestly not bothered with the exhaust more than being pleases with it passing MOT this summer.. :D ).

In light of tonights research I'll add this to my list of things I want to do to her...

http://flatlander-ipp.nl/phantomgrip/ph ... azda.shtml

since it is more readily available than a real S2 diff and I currently don't know of any S3 drivelines here that are not attached to chassies way to nice to plunder...

Scrap this really... I'll start looking for a S3 LSD center or complete 3rd member instead and switch in a set of 24spline gears.
