Currently in the process of moving house so will only be able to get on the forum with my phone for a week or two. Got the welding finished and MOT'd last week :D . Still need to POR15 the underbody around the area I welded, but that can wait until I've moved. Let's hope it doesn't rain too much this weekend! Some of it is still bare metal until I can POR15 :lol:

It was weird to drive again after 10 months!! Had to re-learn :lol:

Will get pictures up in a couple of weeks probably h:

So I've had the car running for a while now. Glad that rust has been sorted! I was finding it a lot easier to do loads of tacks rather than seam/butt weld a lot of it due to the old metal. Excuse the ugly welding :( It's all solid though.. Realised I don't have too many decent pictures of it all :lol:. Still yet to put some filler on and paint it up as some of you would of seen. Also need to POR15 the other side.

Had a pretty bad exhaust leak coming from where my old headers joined to my new(ish) stainless system. It needed to be sorted out badly! Ha. You can see the dent in the lower left hand part of my exhaust. Ordered some new mild steel pipe off ebay. Although I seem to of yet again not got pictures of the finished product!! :oops: I swear I had some :?

Now I think the manifold-block is leaking as I didn't bother putting a new gasket on to whatever was left there :lol:. Maybe It's just in my head :roll:


I bought a Cusco strut brace quite a while ago from RHD Japan and wanted to fit it for RRG, but had some issues. It clashes with the OEM blue airbox. So I borrowed GT_James' filter setup he made and tested it out. As the series 3 strut tops aren't flat, I decided to put some washers underneath to give it more even pressure (washers just the same height as the series 3 bumps). Damn. It hits the bonnet skeleton/frame :evil:. Had enough so I just moved the bonnet catch up which works fine! It's funny - people at the petrol station telling me how my bonnet isn't closed and I reply with "yeah, I know". They get so confused :lol:. I might just cut the bonnet frame so everything fits okay :?

There is something I had done quite a while ago now and completely forgot to post about! I upgraded my front wipers to use new style blades. My rear wiper had been horrible since I got the car and when it rained I couldn't see a thing out of the hatch. Until now :o .

I started by buying the cheapest hook style wiper arm I could find on ebay (about £4.70 including delivery). Done some quick eyeballing to see where I wanted the new blade to sit as I got an inch or two longer than what was on there. Chopped the end off my OEM arm. Chopped the hook end off the new arm where I had quickly eyeballed it to sit. Here's the OEM arm and blade next to the donor arm with a new Bosch Aerotwin flashy thing

Welded the hook end onto my OEM arm.

Paint it up. Done! If you don't have a welder then I'm sure a garage wouldn't mind doing it. Such an awesome upgrade and it was so simple! Performs amazing and looks super clean yay .

I have some really good stuff for replenishing rubber seals and hoses to help them soften up again which it does extremely well at. It also helps to give a nice black finish again! Even though it isn't a black liquid. I've used it to make heater hoses look brand new again. I decided to try it on my wiper cap thingy's and it worked wonders. The stuff is called Gummi Pflege and you can find it on eBay at a reasonable price. A little goes a long way. You want the stuff with the purple label. When applied and dries off it feels kind of sticky with a shiney look. A quick wipe with a dry cloth and the parts look brand new again. Highly recommend it. Gone from a grey faded piece of plastic to this. h[b[

I've been told that mine and James' coilovers should be shipped this week or next (finally). So that'll hopefully bring updates. I also made a big purchase. I tried to keep it quiet.. But with all the turbo talk that was going on at RRG I couldn't help myself :lol: :lol:. I guess a 13b bridgeport with ITB's and Megasquirt can wait. Some of you will recognise it haha. There are some minor alternations that will need to be made so it clears the steering box. Bastard thing. Hopefully one of these rack and pinion conversions I keep seeing on Facebook are actually released one day :evil: .

Time to make a carbon bonnet to clear that strut brace then! Very jealous of the 13B Turbo!
