Holley carb for bridgeport engine

Post by Biggzy »

Hi guys I'm after a Holley carb for my 13b bridgeport. I've been adviseda 650cfm would be ideal. Has anyone got one or know of someone who has one? Many thanks

Yeah is there any particular reason that you want aholley. More common in the US of A.

I do have a twin 36DCD "Rotary Engineering" setup - as discussed in this link - http://www.rx7fb.com/viewtopic.php?f=33 ... &hilit=dcd

I see damn Photobucket strikes again. I will see if I can reroute those images.

This is your GoTo place for a rotarised Holley setup http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1975-1985 ... d=wDGPqxA5

The issue here is that they are made for the LHD market. If you try to fit them to your RHD RX, the brake booster gets in the way. So then, you'd have to source and set up a remote brake booster.

James' 36 DCD is a sexy bit of kit and very rarely available ... much coveted in the US too.

Cheers for the replies, I've seen the racing beat ones on their site and they would be perfect but the budget isn't there for one of them.

If I were to run a Weber, does anyone know what sized Weber would be best for a bridge ported 13b na? She's a 6 port and all the 6 ports are bridged. I've only played around with Holley ones before and haven't got any experience with Weber carbs.

Thanks

you will be wanting at least a 51mm IDA, Empi do a 51mm which is apparently a nicely made copy of the IDA, better quality than the Spanish webers from what I have heard. Not sure where these can be bought from, otherwise there are other versions but more pricey from Racing beat, Gene berg, Geers, Jaycee, Weber specialities NZ, JPM etc. I got a manifold from select maz in aussie and worked out cheaper than racing beat, but still quite expensive now the £ is weaker. IDA manifolds aren't common to find for a 6 port engine second hand, although 4 port 12A and 13B ones sometimes pop up for sale used, you could use one of these with an adaptor plate like steve A made when he put ITBs on his 12A. I have a 6 port 13b but its stock ported and I am using a 48mm IDA.
