Good to know! I hadn't realised that but it makes sense when you think about it. These sorts of considerations become important as the pool of second hand parts diminishes and you need to look overseas.

Hi All,

Just a quick one to let you know Rexanne is alive and well. Not getting much use, but she's looking resplendent in all her gold/brown glory! Will dust her off at some point and post some pics.

Can anyone recommend a good coach trimmer in the southwest, as I want to get the driver's side seat bolster repaired ?

Jesse pointed me in the direction of this, thats kinda crazy! haha

It's a bit cheeky to use my picture, but that one has cropped up various places around the web, they probably just found it on google.Will be my legacy I guess!

Hope you're still getting on ok with the old girl Herman! As Jesse says, would be cool to hear how she's doing :)

Evening :) Yes all well here thanks. The Lancia was a long time ago! I just counted and I've owned 16 cars and motorbikes since I sold the Lancia :silent: :P I did get the Lancia all finished up and painted (well aside from the bonnet!) and it was a great car.

I got a bit disillusioned with daily driving it though, and at the time it didn't really work for me to have it as a weekend toy. So I sold it, which in hindsight wasn't a great move. Can't change that now though, so keep going forward!

After the Lancia I bought my old 13b swapped mx5 back and tried to enjoy rotary life again, but it came back to me with a knackered engine due to water seal failure and had been left to stand too long with coolant in it so the front iron, centre iron and front rotor were just a rusty mess. I bought another 13b, but that one turned out to have been rebuilt by a cowboy, unbeknown to the seller I must add, and it also had water seal failure due to a broken iron. So my patience and budget ran out on that too... Several daily drivers ( you know sensible things like v6 Alfas and a cheap old XJ6) and a couple of motorbikes later and I got back into the car project thing properly with a Triumph Spitfire rebuild. A little over a year ago I went a bit mad and sold the Spitfire to take on my biggest project yet.

I bought a 1968 Daimler 250 v8, so basically a Mk2 Jaguar with a Daimler V8 in it instead of the XK straight 6. This particular example was last taxed the same year I was born, so it's fair to say it's been a big project. So much work done, and quite a lot still to do as I've currently got the engine and gearbox in bits as both need a rebuild. Can read all about it here if you're bored

Who knows after all this maybe I'll keep this one...
