Intermittent wipe function

Post by KiwiDave »

I've only driven the car in the rain once and have discovered that (amongst other things) this function works for 3 or 4 cycles then stops. Do I need to replace the motor or does a separate component control this, like a capacitor or some such thing? :?:

I would imagine it goes through a relay...although the timer might be part of the switch (it is in my 323) - not sure where the realy is for it though :(

Diagrams seem to show an intermittent relay located under the dash, just below the speedo cluster. It's connected via a 6 pin plug and socket.

Wire colours to it seem to be black, blue with yellow stripe, blue, blue with orange stripe, blue with green stripe, blue with black stripe.

Dumb question of the year so far....but are you certain it's not the mechanism binding and now the fuse has blown? Fuse is 10Amp.
I only ask that because 3 or 4 wipes intermittent then jerky jerky is what they do if the screen is drying and the mechanical load in the arms and bulkhead pivots has got too much.
The pivot bushes in the bulkhead seize up basically.
