New Toyo R888's on the rears tomorrow as I've ripped the sidewalls of the current tyres from hard launches.

Apart from that I'm 600 miles in on the tune and feels great. Mental, but great.

You can lay the oil cooler dead flat and it will be fine.

Doubt it. You'd reduce the surface area of the cooler by a huge amount. need the air to pass through the fins and between the tubes. The V-mount set up for Rad and Cooler works becuase air gets forced in in a normal direction then forced out through the respective cores up and down. A flat oil cooler even its base directly the air flow wouldn't be much better than a beehive. An angle is cool as long as there is a path for air to go in and also importantly - out.

Mazda state in the Competition Manual that the oil cooler will run 18% cooler laid flat.

Well life has continued to be hectic in the way life does, house extension finished, driveway done and finally an actual garage with actual lights in for me to work.

The bus has been hogging the room for the most part so workshop time for the 7 has been limited, that being said she's not missed a beat since the tune and hasn't actually needed anything doing, in actual fact proving to be my most reliable method of transport with the wifes DD being in and out of landrover like a fiddlers elbow and the bus in bits.

With the bus out of the way though and sorted for the summer, its finally her turn and ready for the next chapter of her life.



She's still rot free apart from a small area in the inner front wing that got attacked by brake fluid, but is looking flakey underneath thanks to our weather and the fact I live in t'country so the underside is going to be stripped completely, and treated to a dash of powder coating to the suspension components, new bushes and hopefully sometime this decade the coilovers will arrive.

The engine and box will be removed, bay degreased and resprayed and then if all goes to plan, a 20B I've done a deal on will go in. As much as I love the 13BT setup and all its power I've got a hankering for a lovely uncluttered engine bay just with some nice shiny trumpets sticking up, so thats the direction I'm gonna go - N/A screamer.
