good spot Pete, the red stripe will peel off easily enough but the rust might be a bit more of a challenge. :D
Off the road since Feb 1997.... going to need some serious re-commissioning.... buyer should budget £500 to DIY without the bodywork or nearer a grand if getting a garage to do it with paint on top of that.
Worth doing though as long as the underneath isn't too bad.... that's some serious rot on the door for a car that was only on the road for 12 years.... wonder what the rest of it is like?

Rust from the inside out! Interior looks really clean but motor fully service, brakes (pads, discs, calipers), rust (new doors),bearings, body work....I think more than 500! Could be a great project.

The 50K miles means nothing now. Maybe after its had a full resto it will feel more like an original car with such a low clicks.

Anyone interested on here?

yeah, that £500 is for parts only, doing the work yourself to get it running, roadworthy and reliable.... doesn't include the cost of any bodywork which as we know, is the biggest expense..... good resprays don't come cheap and Sunbeam silver is a bitch to match.
That £500 will rise rapidly too if the work is entrusted to a garage to carry out. Remember Cliffs museum piece Elford Turbo?...it had stood in a museum for 30 years and had only 5000 miles on the clock? Cliff was too busy to recommission the car himself but wanted the work done to a standard that he would have done himself so sent the car to a Mazda rotary specialist and it cost the best part of a grand to properly recommission that car with parts and labour..... and the bodywork on it was already mint.... they weren't ripping him off, just doing a proper job at garage rates.
You're right about the mileage Dean... irrelevant on a car this age in this condition..... mines only done 55,000 and has already gone through 2 engines.... I'd much rather buy an immaculate fastidiously maintained car with 120,000 miles on the clock than a 50,000 mile ropey dog full of rust that would probably keep coming back through shiney new paint..... I'm not saying this car is a ropey dog, I haven't seen it, but the value of the car should be based purely on it's current condition and the potential restoration costs.

Last week my girlfriend spotted this in Evesham!

Image

is the car known on here?

young blonde girl driving it, anyone know who it might be? would be good to know more local owners, spotted right on my doorstep, and probably local as it was spotted in the tescos carpark!
