Hi folks, after a little advice on how I can reduce the exhaust noise before I take her back to the dyno. I love the noise it makes but it's going to make me deaf. Feels like I've been at a rock concert after just 30 mins sat in traffic. I believe The current exhaust is from an old escort rally car which is twin pipes straight through to a pre-packable muffler which has just been repacked.

Looking for a cost effective solution as my restoration budget has long gone. So do any of you guys have a view on how best to reduce the noise without compromising power and costing the earth?

What are you packing it with?

You'll need some hotdog style resonators under the seats. One per pipe. The longer the better.

Have a look at the Racing Beat systems, you'll see what I mean.

Not exactly sure what it was. It was a fibre glass type material which the mechanic had left from a rally car exhaust.

Will look at the racing beat option. I have one of their exhaust systems on my FC. Good but expensive

Like Tool saying corrected, hotdog style resonators the one can reduce the sound speed.
Don't go for glass fable as it will burned very quick from rotary's hot breath.
Pack it with hammer break lave rock( same size like gravel)
Rear one, pack in with rockwool( whatever your choice of).. ask any welding shop if they got used one laying about and they might give away for free.
I did used it for my all PP motor, one rear muffer, cross the body type and reads 105db @ 6,000-8,000rpm. it was accepted at National motorsport level which is 110db.
Don't overbroad to try keep someone happy about the sound , **** them and enjoy your rotary experience.
