Re: '80 13BT Series 1
No the sender is from Demon Tweeks, it's a cylindrical one that goes the whole depth of the tank so at least I've got half a chance of some form of accuracy. I did look at the arm style ones, but another reason for not going down that route is I wanted to be able to access it from the removable panel that covers where the spare wheel once was.

Re: '80 13BT Series 1
The onslaught of braided hoses continues.

Breathers now done, just awaiting a catch tank to come - these were supposed to be my coolant lines to the turbo but I ordered the wrong size hose so used it for them instead. I also started the laborious job of swapping all the random nuts and bolts that have been used over the years sourced from various parts bins in my shed for stainless allen bolts and lock nuts. I never thought I'd succumb to the depths of hell that is trying to make an engine bay look semi-loved but here I am. Hating every minute lol.

The only other headway today is my new radiator expansion bottle. I love my RX7 (most the time) and I love Gin (a lot) so seemed a natural combination.

So next weekend should see the coolant situation sorted, my mate is welding up the unused hose outlets off the UIM at the mo to prevent needing more rubber bungs than is really necessary in one engine bay, and then I'll have a crack at the MOT.
In theory.

Re: '80 13BT Series 1
Another heap of bits awaited my arrival home from the week away at work...

Most of it mundane stuff really and barely photo worthy but all a necessity.
Finally managed to get the correct sized bung of the large port on top of the UIM

And got the two LIM outlets welded up, one of them being the cause of my ongoing coolant loss over the years which I only realised when I took it apart. Anyhow, they shouldn't leak now.

Made up the turbo coolant lines, which in turn highlighted my annoying throttle cable which currently (being a lefty) comes from the wrong side so I'm gonna swap it all around at some point. I've also got to replace that nasty unbraided brake vacuum hose lol.

Re: '80 13BT Series 1
Coilers now on order, a long time coming really and something that should have been addressed long ago but it's happening. Coming from a contact of Matty's in Aus, the rears are inverted unlike the Gaz units to eliminate the strut tower fouling issue. Also coming will be adjustable rear control arms and front camber plates.
MOT has been tentatively rebooked for Friday, then I suppose I'd better throw it at a dyno once the boost controller arrives which is an HKS unit that looks far too complicated for words but I like pretty lights and shiz so sod it.

Re: '80 13BT Series 1
Well with much commotion thanks to a now very defunct map thanks to now not having a Vac leak, different injectors and the suchlike I popped and farted my way to the MOT station. Actually drives alright considering but won't idle under 2400 which raised some pulses at the traffic lights. 3" system with only one silencer ain't 'alf gnarly on a blowy november night.
Anyway, lets see how long the list is.
