Made a tiny hole in the bottom of the sump yesterday. Oil slowly seeping out.
What are my options?
New sump or repair?
Thanks.

Re: Small hole in oil sump
You could try to find a good second hand one, doing a repair is always going to be short term as the sump will be thin in other places. Saying that though I once had a pin hole in a sump and put a self tapping screw in it with some rtv on it and it lasted over a year while I owned the car and probably longer as I sold it
(i did tell the new owner).

Get a good used one. They're cheap as chips.
Engine out job to change it though.

Re: Small hole in oil sump
On a flat part, similar to Keith, fix a flat plate like an electrical conduit box lid and an oil-resistant gasket using strong self taps in a ring.
Drop the oil first but remember to put some back in and drain again to get any drilling swarf out. (Use a greasy drill as well).
On a curved bit???? Tricky......Epoxy resin maybe but the oil might interfere with the curing process?
Second hand sumps should be easy. I've got an S2 one somewhere but I ain't seen it for donkey's years.
Edit....post crossed with Mr Tool. Trying to make suggestions to avoid engine out job being a lazy boy these days. Actually I've never done a sump repair....just sounds like a way to do it.

Looking at jb weld. Gets good reviews.
But does anyone know where can I get a new part?

Is the motor new? Why you need a new sump?
Plenty of good used ones about.
