Sunroof / headliner

Post by Lucky »

Does anyone know how the lining of the sunroof is attatched? Is it held on with trim clips, or glued or what?

Mine has gone all saggy in a couple of places where condensation has separated the fabric from the foam, and I'd like to replace it with the liner from a spare sunroof that's a sort of vinyl covering rather than cloth. But I don't want to just try tearing it off and end up mullering it or smashing loads of clips up

clips around the edge under the plastic trim pieces and metal clips around the sunroof... plus the sunroof winder mechanism thingy and the rear view mirror trap it in place and need to be removed.

Thanks, Ian, though I meant the actual liner on the sunroof itself, rather than the full roofliner

It's OK, I just had a cup of man up and had a go at it. Turns out it's a load of little plastic trim clips. Some of which I didn't actually break, lol.

I'll upload a photo for future reference when I get a minute

Here we go; the liner just clips in with these peg-type clips

And should anyone be interested, this is what the inside of the sunroof looks like sans liner, for future reference
