Paid the old girl a visit today seeing as I was close by, and thankfully the bits I've ordered are starting to arrive. Most surprising arrival of all was the HKS Twin Power, all the way from 'merica in a little over a week and no anal bruising by customs and excise so I'll put the lube back in the cupboard till next time. Anyway, here it is for those not familiar. Just a box really - some signal goes in, witchcraft happens, and a stronger signal comes out.


Equally pleasing was the bargain 3 row radiators that are currently doing the rounds on eBay. The level of quality you get for the money is pretty astounding and makes faffing around with the cruddy old one a total waste of energy. I'm back to it mounted in the stock position too so it's a straightforward fit. The only part of that scenario that we'll have to adapt is where the expansion bottle is going to live, as the boost pipe from the intercooler fires straight through where the bracket once lived.



You may recall that I mentioned the intercooler to be fitted would be a Trust unit, and splendid it was too. Shame it wasn't interested in fitting where we wanted it any sense so this was ditched in favour of a Forge unit thats just as splendid (if not more so) and consequently now looks like it grew there.


With that in, the ingredients for the boost pipework (the blue elbows in the picture were purely for fitment purposes) have been ordered and that'll be job jobbed. Whilst I was there we gave the 1000cc Sard's the once-over and for the benefit of me not wanting to deploy the fire extinguisher we ordered a refurb kit, off of eBay again of all places. Who knew? Anyway, this comes with all the O rings and gauzes etc you'd possibly require to make you injectors like new. Here they are though, pre-op.


And finally - this is the inside view of the ducting I had from the air filter to the turbo. It's safe to say I'm a lucky boy that none got sucked up but the turbo has had a pretty valiant attempt at turning the ducting inside out thats for sure. Explains why she felt a bit sluggish last outing.

Ian yeah it's from the guys in the link from the Netherlands, beautifully made though and came super-quick.

In other news, the injector refurb kit has arrived as has the sticky heat shielding I'm gonna put on the UIM. Back to the ignition system though, I'm stuck with the FC coils for now as my Microtech won't fire FD coils without being sent back to microtech themselves for reprogramming. Sod that lol.

Looks like next year will be engine management upgrade time.

Did I enter a time bending capsule as all of a sudden it's September?

Right well, what have I been doing you may wonder? Not a lot on the 7 is the answer, safe in the knowledge that its dry and safe in Tims workshop and with no time whatsoever to do anything related to it due to this house (which, as it happens is near completion)* summer passed me by and all of a sudden Autumn is knocking on the door. There has been some minor progress though - my new fuel tank has been made by my talented friend so bye bye surge tank and all the other gubbins associated with it that threatened to cause an Exxon Valdez'esque** disaster every time the wife enthusiastically threw shopping in the back in anticipation of her next adventure in the 7***.

So it looks a little like this.



That, of course is the under side with it's sumpy underbelly bit on show and AN-10 outlet to the Bosch 044 which I'll keep as it is.

Here is the top, with two AN-08, one for the return and the other for the breather which as some snazzy ball bearing thing in it so if the power overtakes my minimal talent I should be as safe as can be expected.



The neck also has a fitting for the neck breather I'm not running AN-08 all the way back though, its actually gonna be AN-06 but muggins here got the wrong weld in fittings so a reducer will be put into action for the return line.

New lines will go in next week, and the fuel rails will be finished once the rest of the eye watering expensive fittings arrive. The tank has gone back to Alex to have the brackets welded on it now where it will pick up the standard hanging points for the stock tank. I wanted the 'drop tank' kind of look, and thats what I got.



I'd like to think that he might make at least one appearance this year, and I have month until the Japshow Finale but I'll see how it goes. On current form, finale 2017 is probably more accurate.

Oh yeah, and we have a new stablemate.
