I use Amsoil Synthetic Gear Lube SAE 75w-90 with one 114 ml bottle of AC Delco (general motors) LSD additive. Part # 1 # 992694.
I have used this with both the stock series 2 LSD and the Mazda factory race LSD. Not sure of UK availability.
When in doubt....hit the gas.

do you reckon this will work in my lsd? Looking at the spec Tool linked to, this seems to be the stuff.... I don't really want to shell out £30 for synthetic until I know it all works as it should and there are no problems.... this seems a bit more reasonable....

I go for the higher 75-140 hyoid stuff.

This is exactly what I use:

If there's something wrong with your diff, you can always drain it out and reuse it. Just put it through a coffee filter to remove the chunks.

I doesn't say much about your LSD supplier though ;)

I'm sure the diff with be spot on... I'm more worried about oil leaks from the casing where I've put it all together etc

Ok lloyd12a, find me some of that. He's massing loads of mfr parts for a build and knows his stuff, but I disagree with him here.

All I know about diff oil !

Clutch type LSD's need a certain type of oil.

Torsen type LSD's can use std diff oil.

I'm using Redline synthetic stuff in my gearbox and diff, Red Line MT-90 it is, bit pricey mind.
