Happy Christmas to me. Can you identify my present?

Post by Antnicuk »

As some of you know I bought Ian's shell after Keith was unable to continue with it. My intention is to use the FD donor that i have to transplant ALL the running gear to the first Gen. I will be using front and rear subframes, steering, brakes, full suspension engine gearbox, diff and power plant frame.

My donor is pretty much stipped now with most of what i dont need sold on. The first gen shell is sitting in my cousins workshop ready for whn i drag the donor up there to transplant the running gear.

The FD is only 10mm longer which i can easily lose but it is 3 inches wider so i was looking for a wide arch kit, like a group C or similar.

I love the look of the black car below but had hit brick walls with every enquiry to obtain a bodykit. Imagine my surprise when my cousin phoned me today and told me to go to the workshop and have a look at the car. I stopped off on my way home only to find out that he had been given a wide arch kit for a first gen by one of his customers who new he was into his RX7's, Happy christmas he said to me :)). It is new and never fitted. It looks really good quality and although dirty is in really good condition. It looks nice and wide and the fit looks good from what i can see.

I have taken some pics with my phone which arn't great but i was hoping someone might be able to identify it. It has side skirts, all four wings and a front lower splitter that looks like it goes under the stock front bumper (the really dirty bit in the pics). It looks like there should be a piece that goes between the rear wings under the stock rear bumper which i dont have but i'm sure i can make something.

I am hoping to get the running gear fitted before christmas when i will bring it home and start on the engine work. It will be a street ported FD engine and single turbo.

Thanks Ian, i still cant be sure if its the same as this one. Here is a picture of the side skirts roughly in place. It seems to be a bit wider than the blue car. Although its hard to tell with the grey side skirts. I had a better look in the daylight today and it seems that i dont have a piece missing. The first cut out is for the lights and the second one is for the rear bumper. I will just have to find a rear top spoiler and make a rear defuser (sp).
